
Allison Brooks Janney was born on the 19th of November, 1959. 2] She is an American actress. With a professional career that spans 30 years, she's famous for her roles in multiple genres of screen and on stage. Janney has been nominated for two Tony Awards and has been awarded two Academy Award as well as a British Academy Film Award. Janney was brought up by her parents in Dayton and Boston by her parents received a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to continue her studies after having graduated from Kenyon College. Following years of minor, insignificant appearances on TV and films her breakthrough came in her role as C. J. Cregg in the NBC dramatic drama The West Wing (1999-2006), for which she received four Primetime Emmy Awards. The show won her the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress as an Drama Series as Margaret Scully's character in Masters of Sex. The most notable role she played was her role as Bonnie Plunkett.
